Frequently Asked Questions

How are your Inspectors certified?

While Michigan does not require certification or training for home inspectors, Weatherstone holds our inspectors to a high standard of education and training to make sure they are knowledgeable and professional. All of our inspectors train through InterNACHI (the most recognized governing body for home inspectors), and maintain other training courses through other institutions such as Michigan State University.

Is a home inspection required to buy a home?

That depends on how you are buying the home. Lending products such as FHA and VA will require a home inspection along with an appraisal. Conventional loans often only require an appraisal report to proceed. In any case, a home inspection provides you with the peace of mind knowing what is going on in a home, from top to bottom.

How soon can I schedule a home inspection?

Depending on availability an inspection can sometimes be scheduled for the next day if you are in a pinch!

When will I receive my report?

Your digital report will be delivered to you within 24 hours of the inspection. This allows the inspector to review and make sure everything is on there so you have all the information.

How much does an inspection cost?

That depends on several different factors, but your average home inspection can cost about $390-415 (for a 1500sq. ft. home).

What do your inspections cover?

Our core home inspection covers everything from the roof to the foundation. We will inspect every system of the home to check functionality, safety and condition. Everything is fully detailed in our digital reports that give you the whole picture of all that is going on in the home. We also provide options to include additional testing and evaluations for such things as well and septic systems
